We love connecting with our cafe neighbors in the Lower East Side of New York City, and so when we learned that our friend Brandon of No Fun Bar was up for mixing some RISE-centric cocktails, we couldn’t say no!
We loved his breakfast-oriented approach to the RISE nitro cold brew coffee cocktails that he made -- they felt like something that we would love to sip on over conversations with friends, or outdoor at a cafe getting caught up on some pre-Monday work. His approach to mixing RISE nitro coffee into cocktails is both flavorful and fun -- and really made the experience feel like a treat.
In his first nitro coffee cocktail, Brandon did a take on a weekend morning favorite. Designed to evoke the feeling of a lazy morning with pancakes, family, and a big cup of coffee, the Sunday Morning is a blueberry-filled cold brew coffee treat:
0.5oz Lemon Juice
0.25oz Blueberry Maple Syrup
12 muddled blueberries
1.5oz Elijah Craig Bourbon
1oz Lemonade Nitro Cold Brew Float
In his next breakfast-oriented cocktail, Brandon went a bit darker and used both rum and mezcal to bring out the chocolate nature of the Original Black nitro cold brew flavor -- and added maple syrup for a dash of sweetness:
Wake Up, It's Dark Out
05.oz Maple Syrup
0.25oz Fernet Branco
0.75oz Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
0.75 Sombra Mezcal
0.75 Original Black Nitro Cold Brew Float
Brandon’s last cocktail, the Oat Session, is a low-ABV cocktail using the Oat Milk Latte. It is light and bright, and designed to be an easy sipper during afternoon weekend working sessions, ideally in a patch of sunshine:
0.5oz cream of coconut (Coco Lopez)
0.75 Graham's Tawny Port
0.5oz lemongrass infused vodka (Zubrowka)
2oz Oat Milk Latte
These nitro coffee cocktails had us buzzing and smiling for the rest of the day -- can’t wait to see what you guys think of them!
